Safety
Safety First
The Broadway Electric, Inc. (“BEI”) culture is focused on safety. Our work sites are engineered to be safe for our employees, subcontractors, clients, and all who enter. Federal, state, and local safety and health laws regarding supervision, accident prevention, and emergency response are not only met with full compliance but exceeded. This commitment is evidenced by our track record. In over thirty years, none of our construction projects have resulted in OSHA safety violations
We ensure that our personnel is trained to the latest safety standards, we tailor safety plans to the specific tasks at hand, and we strictly enforce our Accident Prevention Program. Individuals who fail to comply will be corrected on the spot, retrained, suspended, and/or dismissed from the project.
Our methods include zero-tolerance drug testing, certifying personnel in First Aid & CPR, and professional development through OSHA, NEC, and NFPA. Job/Activity Hazard Analysis (JHAs/AHAs) issued throughout each project will ensure that protocol is maintained until substantial completion. Weekly “toolbox talks” further ensure constant reinforcement and reassessment of our program.
Because of our experience in healthcare environments, we are also thoroughly experienced with guidelines and regulations from these organizations:
- JCAHO—Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals Organization
- ASHE—American Society for Healthcare Engineering
- EPA—Environmental Protection Agency
We know what it takes to put together an Infection Control Plan, conduct Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) and Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA), and implement Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) and Methods of Procedure (MOP) with the following features:
- Hazard Surveillance
- Stop Work Protocol & Corrective Actions
- Emergency Access & Response
- Fire Protection Response & Training
- Accident/Incident Reporting & Investigations
- Signage and Notifications
- Temporary Partitions & Egress Control
- Continuity of Facility Life-Safety Systems
- Protective Clothing & Equipment
- Fall protection: rigging, scaffolding, & cranes
- Procedures for excavation, confined spaces, hot work, combustible load, etc.
Quality Control Program
BEI’s Quality Control Program is responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established standards. BEI’s program includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and works with other in-house personnel and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
Our CQCMs report directly to the Project Manager and the Operations Manager of Construction.
